Saturday we had a fun trip to the little island. Loaded with candy, frogs and assortment of spanish and chovie. I had Alec onboard from Eric\'s Tackle in Ventura. Alec is known for making one of the nicest custom rods around. Also onboard we had Jamie N and his bro Junior. Our plan was to depart @ 5pm and BBQ @ the Island and make some bait. After a few birthday salude\'s we were in the rack. We fished a few areas for a halibut and some calico bass. As conditions improved we made a short move to a spot of working birds and dropped the hook on a little reef with deep stringers. Fishing with 1/4 oz sliders and 30 to 40 Junior hooked a big goat, his personal best. Not settling for that, moments after hookup he gets a nice yellow, 24 lbs to be exact, then Hunter has to show off and sticks another in the same range with our new Accurate 270 7\'9\" w/25 that we set aside for our customers. Jamie then pops one off with 20 and switches to 40 and gets his 30.5. Alec feeling a little left out of the party gets a nice 23.5 fish. All in all a great day on the water fishing with friends. i

We had 2 consecutive days of offshore fishing this weekend that proved we can run for just over 2 hours put the jigs in and have a chance of catching yellowfin tuna, mako sharks, Marlin and calico bass in the same day. We were participating in the Channel Islands Billfish Tournament. Wind was in the forcast for the weekend, heading W to the offshore banks was not in the cards. As tempting as it is, we opted for the SE direction. Just a little over 2 hours I pulled back the throttles on an area of feeding stripey\'s pushing baits off the water, Terns, and gulls picking sauries, sardines and mackerel. We had a tank of beautiful mackerel and sardines to fish today and Hunter ran up to the bow and threw on feeding marlin, but no takers. 4 jigs went into the water 2 long and 2 short. All day we had action. Constant fish trying to eat the jigs. Drop backs were deployed. Over all a great day on the water. Most of the bait balls had small to large makos. Small schools of yellowfin were boiling around, but these next two days were dedicated to catching marlin. The mission was to get Hunter his first Southern Ca marlin. Just upon the slack tide were were heading to the high spot and a single marlin attacks the left short petrelo, two wacks and runs across to the right short black and purple, Jones drops back a perfect mackerel. The fish disappears. A slow idle waiting for a pick up and just out of the blue this fish appears on the left long and eats the mean joe green. Black smoke, boat moving fwd, hunter grabs the rod throws the Accurate B-230 exxtreme to strike and sets the hook and \"fish on\". Waiting for a double no other fish wanted to play and the lines were cleared. After 30 min of fighting the fish on 50 pound the fish was boarded and we headed for weigh in. The next day brought steady action on billfish, mako sharks and jumping yellowfin that didn\'t want to eat our baits. Maybe a tank of chovie may work. Just want to make it clear. My boat chooses to release billfish 100% of the time but, if a angler wishes to take a billfish and eat it I have no problem taking one. This fish was weighed, fillet and taken home to enjoy for the rest of the season. We were only able to fish the tournament for a few days. There is a couple days left. Anglers on 11 other boats were catching and releasing fish for all the days we were out there. Good time by all. If your interested in catching a marlin or tuna you can contact us. We plan to fish the offshore scene till the end of October. Capt Keith Denette Martuni Sportfishing 805-320-3474

We were able to fish the weekend with great results on the seabass and calico bass. Most of our anglers had 2-4 shots per day for the seabass and limit style fishing on the calico bass towards the end of the weekend. Lots of fish lost due to tackle failer and kelps, but overall it has some of the best fishing trips we have had. When you add the nice weather, great anglers and steady fishing who\'s to complain. We have added the line of Accurate rods and Reels onboard and we are extremely happy with the combinations were are fishing with. We are excited to fish the Accurate 197c, 270c, and the 870 narrow with the exxtreme rod match ups, these rods are perfect for us for the rest of the seabass, offshore tuna and marlin season. We will be chasin\' yellowfin this week so look for our open party trips coming up on August 14th, 15th and 16th. Looks like were in for some Seabass, yellows and calico bass. as alway 5 to 5 and $215. Call us @ 805-320-3474 If you dont get us please leave a message and we will be happy to call you back and get you onboard. Capt Keith Denette Martuni Sportfishing

It just keeps getting better and better. Our last trip we had 18 seabass for our charter. We are seeing more spots of yellowtail everyday and soon we should be in them pretty thick. Were suggesting our anglers to bring 15 to 30 lb rigs. Were catching the fish on droppers, sliders, swim baits and yo yo iron. Weather is perfect, seas are calm and fish are biting.

Just got in from a great weekend of fishing. No volume of seabass and no spot for sure. Just steady picks of fish here and there. Water has cleaned up quite a bit and sea temps are rising. Lots of barracuda, calico bass and an occasional halibut to spice things up. We were chartered this weekend and our groups wanted to chase the seabass and they were rewarded with the elusive. Hunter says \"Eric\'s tackle rods are the best!\" Looking forward to the next one...or 2

Today we had good seabass fishing. Scott Levy caught his limit on the dropper loop. His Father also had 2 shots but was able to put one on the deck. Barracuda made a good show at the end of the day and a couple black seabass made for a interesting ending.

Today was tough for the entire fleet. We caught our share but the bite has went from wide open to fair. We worked our asses off today to catch the fish we had but we stuck to our guns and we were rewarded with some nice seabass and smaller grade releases and blacks. We had a few that got away but that\'s fishing! Super group of anglers that stuck with our game plan. Almost perfect weather.
